“TATARIN”

1. Discuss how mood and atmosphere are carefully established by the author in the beginning of the story by the story his concentration on the image of heat. Consider how this image persists throughout the story. Note the significance of the title.

The author want to express sexual attraction of the human in other man and the story want to establish the TATARIN tradition someplace in the Philippines.

2. What is Doña Lupeng’s initial reaction to the implications of the tadtarin (on Amanda)? Trace the development of Doña Lupeng‘s feelings towards these rites as the story progresses.

When Doña Lupeng see the Amanda in the spirit of tatarin is was shock and embarrass for they visitors.

3. Show Doña Lupeng’s bitter anger towards men gradually emerges and finally explores dramatically in the last scene.

Doña Lupe was anger for his husband because he not understand feeling of his wife Doña Lupe.

1.) Poison in the ear –But in fact the truth is that his father was murder from getting poison on his ear. It is the very beginning of the story where his father dies while falling asleep on the surface. Because of his fathers and his uncle became the crown king of his kingdom. While there are assassin that came after his life from time to time. Because of the signs and dreams he has of his father. He became suspicious of his uncle and state that his uncle was the one who killed his father in a play he created for the wedding.
2.) A mirror (or “glass”) –Thinking that whatever he must do or act him must be ready for the consequences no matter how hard for it to bear. For Hamlet this was always his time for him to make a decision or this could symbolize as his own crossroad. No matter what he chose he must see it to the end.
3.) Disease and Rotting things - Like when Hamlet is narrating the true way how his father was killed by his uncle. It also showed when his uncle orders the royal guards to kill hamlet. By that fact it represents the sinful acts or intentions of his uncle as the story progresses.
4.) Acting and hypocrisy- He acts as if he was insane for some reason and rumbles on things that doesn’t make sense to anyone but himself. He appears to everyone as if he has accepted that his father in his sleep but all awhile the only thing he thought of is get his revenge towards his uncle. It seems that whenever there is deception in the story it appears.
5.) Madness – It appears time to time in the story. Mostly the main charter goes mad in some scene of the play. Thus making Hamlet innocent for any crime accuse to him. He acts insane to show other people the sign that killed his father and make his uncle very suspicious. He wants even though there might only a few people who believe him and the other may think that he really is insane.

Suicide - Even though Hamlet knows that no one would have the guts to stick by him. He still chooses to go against the new king even he knows it means death for him. As if he was going to commit suicide and take the king with him in his grave. In the story suicide is mostly cost to regain one’s honor if lost. If their honor became lost means betrayal for the king and will slaughter all of his clan’s men.

POVERTY

Individuals are said to be in absolute poverty when they are unable to obtain at least a specified minimum of the food, clothing and shelter that are considered necessary for continued survival.
Poverty is hunger. Poverty is lack of shelter. Poverty is being sick and not being able to see a doctor. Poverty is not having access to school and not knowing how to read. Poverty is not having a job, is fear for the future, living one day at a time. Poverty is losing a child to illness brought about by unclean water. Poverty is powerlessness, lack of representation and freedom.
I interviewed Mrs. Rubelyn V. Casimiro, Ate Juvy for short, she’s 31 years old. A widow, her husband died in 2002. She was left with four children namely: Alejandro Jr , 12 years old in Grade 2, Mariejoy 10 years old Kinder, Zyrenejoy 9 years old Kinder , and Adriane 7 years old Nursery.
They were formerly residing at Purok Bagong Silang Mayao Crossing, Lucena City. When her husband died she was pregnant with their fourth child. She has no work to support and provide her children in their daily needs. Someone told her to go to the office of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), now located at Zaballero Subd, Lucena City. She was thankful that DSWD accepted her children and because of their situation she was also allowed to stay at DSWD.
DSWD provided food, clothing, shelter, and her children’s education. Her children are now studying at Zaballero Elementary School and at DSWD Day Care Center. In return she is helping DSWD in monitoring and helping children’s activities, she assists in the kitchen in preparing children’s meals and every Thursdays they make pandecoco or Spanish bread.
Her family found a big family at DSWD, she’s thankful that her family is safe and her children are well cared off by DSWD.

UNIT SUMMARY

1. The Earth is an oblate spheroid or almost spherical in shape due to its flattened poles and bulging equator.

2. Rotation is the movement of the earth on its axis that gives rise to the occurrence of day and night. Revolution is the movement of the earth around the sun, which spans one year.

3. Different places on the earth experience different length of daytime and nighttime due to the inclination of the earth’s axis by 23 ½ degrees.

4. The changes in orientation of the earth axis with respect to the movement of the earth around the sun give rise to the phenomenon of regular seasonal changes.

5. The earth’s immediate neighbor space is the eight planets of the Solar System. The farthest planet, Pluto, has the longest period of revolution. Pluto is the smallest planet while Jupiter is the largest. Earth is the densest among other planets due to its rocky materials. Venus has the highest temperature because of its thick clouds of carbon dioxide.

6. Gravitational pull of the moon on the opposite sides of the Earth causes tides. Two tidal bulges emerge, which result in two high tides and two low tides.

7. Eclipse is another effect of the moon on the earth. It occurs only when the moon. The earth and the sun are in line with one another, when the moon comes between the sun and the earth, solar eclipse is observed. On the other hand, lunar eclipse takes place when the earth comes between the sun and the moon.

8. Comets revolve around the sun in long, elliptical orbits. It has a “head” of burning gases and a long, gaseous tail.

9. Meteors can be seen at night as “shooting stars”. The friction between this stony matter and the air produces a streak of light that makes them appear like shooting stars. Meteorites are meteor chunks that fall on earth.

10. Stars are made of hot gases and they emit their own light. Stars differ in size, color, and temperature. The apparent brightness of a star is referred to as its magnitude.

11. Groups of stars that form a definite pattern are called constellations.

12. Celestial body’s together with other star systems make up galaxy. Our galaxy is named the Milky Way. It is 100,000 lights years in diameter.

13. The universe is composed of millions of galaxies. It is believed that the universe is expanding.

RISK

Risk is a concept that denotes the precise probability of specific eventualities. Technically, the notion of risk is independent from the notion of value and, as such, eventualities may have both beneficial and adverse consequences. However in general usage the convention is to focus only on potential negative impact to some characteristic of value that may arise from a future event.
Definitions of risk
There are many definitions of risk that vary by specific application and situational context. One is that risk is an issue, which can be avoided or mitigated Risk is described both qualitatively and quantitatively. In some texts risk is described as a situation which would lead to negative consequences.
Qualitatively, risk is proportional to both the expected losses which may be caused by an event and to the probability of this event. Greater loss and greater event likelihood result in a greater overall risk.
The thesis risk
